2022 Staff Dates

Due to COVID-19 mitigation, we will likely be unable to allow for late arrival, days off for weddings, school visits etc. and will be looking to hire staff for the full season.  Please contact us before you apply if you have questions about this.

October 1

New staff hiring begins.

June 1

“Work Week” begins. Work Week is a fun week of facility
set-up, community building and Wilderness First Responder and Lifeguard, training courses.
Work week is optional for most staff. However, it is the perfect transition into our community.

June 8

Staff Training begins and is required for all staff. Learning, camp set up, community building, camaraderie and a bit of down time all take place during this time.

June 18

Campers arrive and fun, memories and the summer of a lifetime begins!

July 15-16

Session I campers depart and Session II campers arrive.

August 11

Campers head home.

August 12

At 6:00 pm, staff are free to head off from Bemidji for their new adventures or get ready before our next fun week…. Booking of flights out of Minneapolis for August 13th is advised.

August 13-August 18 ending at 6:00 pm. (Staff depart in afternoon on August 18) Family Camp and 75th Boys Camp Reunion

Thunderbird turns into a resort/ranch like experience.  Alumni, current and new families gather together to share five days of camp fun. Activities, evening programs, relaxing moments, and tons of memorable moments.

Please note that staff must be available to attend staff training through the majority of the camp season.  Please call if have questions about scheduling.
